What comes to mind when you see the word clarity? Isn’t that a pleasant word? Clarity—everything has gotten clear. Your nose is no longer plugged and you can breathe easily. The clouds have opened up to reveal a bright blue sky. Something that was once murky in your mind has suddenly been cleared up, as if someone flipped a switch. This new vehicle boasts impressive range and efficiency, and it is a promising sign for an environmentally-friendly future, not to mention fuel efficiency. 2017 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell driving range and fuel efficiency

red 2017 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell at charging stationThe 2017 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell is made for efficient driving that can help keep the environment in good shape by not throwing more emissions into the air, as well as save you money over the long run with its unique mode of operation. The vehicle can drive for as many as 366 miles, getting an estimated 69 city, 67 highway, and 68 combined gasoline-equivalent miles per gallon (MPGe).*

This whole system works by having fuel cells stacked under the hood. These cells use hydrogen to create electricity. The hydrogen reacts with a catalyst, separating it into protons and electrons. The protons pass through a membrane, while the electrons are sent to the electric motor to make the car run. Then, the protons and electrons reconnect on the other side of the membrane with oxygen and form water. That water goes out the tailpipe, which is the only emission the vehicle makes.

The 2017 Honda Clarity Fuel Cell is currently available on a limited and lease-only basis, but this is one way Honda continues to move forward by thinking of the future, rather than just the present. Perhaps one day most cars will be powered as such, offering better efficiency and more environmental consciousness to the masses!
