Do you picture yourself having to lean forward as you drive to speak into a little microphone that may be located somewhere in the dashboard of your vehicle in order to make sure the car does what you want it to do? Those days are in the past. The directional microphone in the overhead console is located in such a place that allows it to pick up voice commands that you can say out loud from a normal position inside the vehicle. Just make sure other noises are at a minimum, and you can simply talk in your normal speaking voice.

To speak to the Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® or Onboard Navigation System, give a short press to the talk button (the drawing of a face with sound waves emanating from the mouth) and speak your commands as indicated above. If you are using Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™ for your tunes, press and hold the talk button to activate Siri® or Google, and wait until those systems are activated and you are prompted to speak.

And that is really all there is to it! This technology can offer more convenience for drivers, and by allowing you to remain in your normal seating position inside the car and speaking in a normal voice, it can add to your experience behind the wheel, rather than make it more cumbersome or hassled.
