The extra-small SUV known as the Honda HR-V has long enjoyed a reputation as a value-packed machine with a voluminous cargo area, practical ride, and delightfully clever folding back seat that Honda refers to as its “Magic Seat.” The 2021 model continues this proud tradition in style, making few changes other than standardizing tinted rear glass as a feature on the Sport trim.
Four trim levels are available for the 2021 Honda HR-V: LX, Sport, EX and EX-L. All-wheel drive is on hand to be added to each. No matter which trim you choose, your 2021 HR-V will come powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that churns out 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque, partnered happily with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

One of our favorite elements of the 2021 Honda HR-V is its tight maneuverability. Playful handling makes this machine a real joy to drive. The 2021 HR-V keeps its composure around corners, with steering that’s precise and brakes that are strong.
The cargo hold of the 2021 Honda HR-V is both huge and practical. Space on hand varies depending on the drivetrain chosen, but either way, you’ll be getting good numbers for the segment.
With front-wheel drive, the 2021 HR-V has 24.3 cubic feet behind the rear seats; folding these down opens things up to 58.8 cubic feet.
Those numbers take a slight dip (of about a foot) when the 2021 HR-V is outfitted with all-wheel drive; an AWD-setup grants 23.3 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, and either 57.6 or 55.6 cubic feet with those seats folded down (depending on the trim level one opts for).
