The 2020 Honda Civic Sedan is just one member of an extensive family. In addition to the sedan, the group contains five other models: the Honda Civic Coupe, Civic Hatchback, Civic Si Coupe, Civic Si Sedan, and Type R. The 2020 Nissan Altima is a sedan, however, so to make things fair, we’re going to pit it against the Civic Sedan model.
However, the Nissan Altima is a bit different from the Civic in that the former is a midsize car, while the latter is a compact sedan. Typically, if one is considering a midsize car from the Honda lineup, they’ll look to the Honda Accord.
But since you’ve asked for it, we’re going to demonstrate how the Civic Sedan compares to the Nissan Altima. Enjoy!

The 2020 Honda Civic Sedan boasts a lower price point than the 2020 Nissan Altima. Its compact size means it gets slightly less passenger and cargo volume. This is the trade-off one must consider when pitting a compact sedan against a midsize model.
The 2020 Nissan Altima suffers from less sporty performance than rivals and a less endearing cabin. The 2020 Honda Civic, by contrast, has received particular praise for its dynamic performance and upscale, roomy interior. Both it and the 2020 Nissan Altima are able to seat up to five individuals.
The 2020 Nissan Altima is about ten inches longer than the 2020 Honda Civic Sedan. The added size brings both positives and negatives; as noted above, the model enjoys slightly more passenger and cargo room. However, as a bigger vehicle, it’s more difficult to maneuver, park and store. It also has a higher starting price.
If you do decide that a midsize sedan is the path for you, we recommend taking a look at how the Nissan Altima compares to the Honda Accord.
