What new features are on the 2018 Honda Fit?
As we continue to progress through 2017, it is time to look forward to what the next year has to offer. For automakers, that means previewing the latest models for the upcoming year. Honda has provided information about the next iteration of its Fit hatchback. What new features are on the 2018 Honda Fit? Read ahead for more details!
Exterior and interior design
The 2018 Honda Fit is getting an update to its styling to reflect a sportier appearance. It will have a lower and wider stance from the new front and rear fascia, and the front grille will be comprised of chrome and piano black pieces. The overall length of the 2018 Fit is 161.4 inches for the LX, EX, and EX-L models, while the Sport trim will just be a touch longer at 161.8 inches.
Speaking of the Sport trim, this is a new addition to the Fit family for 2018. As the name suggests, the sport factor is increased on this trim. It includes aero form features at the front, sides, and rear, as well as integrated fog lights and a low front splitter. The trim will also feature a gloss-black finish on its 16-inch alloy wheels and have a three-stake diffuser with a bright orange upper trim line, chrome exhaust finisher, and Sport badging. The inside of the Fit Sport is black and features cross-hatched fabric for the seats and door trim. Bright orange stitching along the seats, armrest, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

Standard across the 2018 Honda Fit are such technology features as a rearview camera, auto on-off headlights, LED brake lights, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®. The Fit also includes a redesigned driver’s meter with a large analog speedometer and digital tachometer. Honda Sensing® is also available as an optional feature on all trims. The Sport model and EX trim features a seven-inch Display Audio touchscreen interface with Apple CarPlay TM and Android Auto TM compatibility.
Powertrain and fuel economy
One of the defining features of the Honda Fit is its peppy ride and efficient fuel economy. The LX, EX, and Sport will offer two engine choices. The first is a 1.5-liter DOHC direct-injected 4-cylinder I-VTEC TM and VTC engine with a six-speed manual transmission. This engine doles out 130 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. While getting an EPA-estimated 29 city and 36 highway miles per gallon*. The second engine option, which is the only engine and transmission available for the EX-L trim, is a 1.5-liter DOHC direct-injected 4-cylinder I-VTEC TM and VTC with an automatic continuously-variable transmission. This engine is capable of 128 horsepower and 113 lb-ft of torque. The LX trim with this engine gets an EPA-estimated 33 city and 40 highway miles per gallon, while the EX, EX-L, and Sport trims equipped with this transmission can get an EPA-estimated 31 city and 36 highway miles per gallon.
